My singing career started at the age of 13 when I sang at local folk clubs accompanying myself with rythmn guitar. By the age of 14 I was part of a trio called Marcel which led me to join another group called Lemon Tree where we focused on three or four part harmonies. I remained with Lemon Tree for many years we were quite successful. One year we entered 'The Pub Entertainer of the Year' and reached the finals which were held at The Royal Albert Hall, and to our delight achieved third place.
During my years with Lemon Tree I also lived abroad for a while, but when I returned even though I continued singing with them I had a desire to perform my songs. This desire was answered by joining a local Theatre Group, it gave me the opportunity as I performed lead roles such as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, and Fanny Brice in Funny Girl. The Director suggested I should go to Drama School after I won the award of Best Female Performance in 1997 for the role of Fanny by the Greater Manchester Drama Federation. I did so and studied at Laine Johnson Theatre School for nearly four years. During that time I also attended, on three separate occasions, intense week courses at RADA.
I found an agent and managed to steadily build up a decent CV. Currently I am being represented by Spotlight.
